When Gabi Shull was 9 years old, she began to have knee problems. The young dancer struggled to recover after a skating accident and complained of serious knee pain. An MRI scan revealed something much worse than a fracture or sprain; Gabi had a rare form of cancer known as osteosarcoma.
Instead of giving up on her dreams of dancing and playing like she used to, Gabi, her family, and her medical team held out hope, and doctors had to get creative with her treatment. Now, this little girl’s amputated leg faces the wrong direction. When you see why, you’ll be stunned.

It’s uplifting to see how Gabi overcame the challenges she faced from such a unique surgery. Thankfully, she can now pursue her dreams like every other kid her age.
