Many remember it as the concert which transformed the music industry. It took place in London at London’s Live Aid performance On July 13, 1985.
Numerous songs were sang by Queen which included “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “We Are the Champions,” “Radio Ga Ga,” “We Will Rock You,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” In both ways; playing the piano while sitting or walking around the stage singing, Freddie Mercury would make the audience go crazy. So far this concert is known as the greatest rock concert, which had approximately 72,000 people who were singing along and clapping in unison.
When this performance took place on the 13th of July 1985, the main aim was to collect money that would be used to assist Ethiopia which was stricken by famine at that time. The Live Aid took place simultaneously at two different places; John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia and Wembley Stadium in London. Roughly, 1.9 million people were watching the concert live on air.
Freddie Mercury died in 1991, six years after performing this extraordinary concert. Although he is not with us physically, the clip has been on the popularity step up. A Foo Fighters front man known as Dave Grohl said that it was an important thing for every band to study well Mercury’s concert at Queen at Live Aid.
