A Chicago officer was out on patrol with his partner when they began pursuit of a stolen vehicle. While being chased, the driver started firing at the officer, shooting one in his face. However, instead of waiting for an ambulance or rushing to the hospital, the officer turned to his partner and said 4 astonishing words.
Brandon McDonald, 35, was patrolling a beat in Chicago, one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S., when his partner got a positive ID on a carjacking suspect with a stolen vehicle. Charles Lawson, 24, led police on a heart-pounding chase Wednesday through a neighborhood on the city’s South Side before pulling out an illegal firearm and shooting at McDonald.

Blue Lives Matter reports that Lawson hit McDonald in the face, causing the officer to pull over and check his injuries. McDonald can be heard in the dash cam footage, saying, “I’m f***ing shot. I’m hit! I’m hit!…”

After a few seconds, McDonald realizes that he managed to literally dodge a bullet, as the ammunition had only grazed his head. It was then that McDonald said 4 words that put law enforcement officials’ incredible dedication to their job into perspective.
Brushing off his injuries, McDonald immediately declares, “F*** this sh**. Let’s go get him.”
Even at the behest of his partner to show him where he was hit, McDonald can only think about protecting the neighborhood from this armed and dangerous criminal. Shrugging off his partner’s concerns, McDonald resumes pursuit until he and his fellow officers nab the shooter.
Lawson can be seen driving up over curbs and finally coming to a stop after tossing his pistol out the window. After he surrenders, police bring him in without further incident, practicing unbelievable restraint.
Although the Black Lives Matter movement would like us to believe that every person of color who encounters a police officer leaves in a body bag, we can see just how much self-control these officers practice. Here we have a black man shooting and hitting an officer, yet he is taken alive by a swarm of police, all without any sign of injury.
Lawson is the epitome of the BLM movement — a murderous thug with a criminal background. He had just been released from prison, serving 3 months for 2 counts of armed robbery, when he attempted to kill an officer. He wasn’t some innocent civilian who police targeted because of his skin color. He was a repeat offender who decided to kill in order to escape the consequences of his lawlessness.
ABC reports that after Lawson began firing at McDonald and the other squad cars, police returned fire but never hit him. It was this response that prompted Lawson to surrender his firearm and himself.
“There are emboldened offenders in some of our communities that think it’s okay to shoot at the police with an illegal gun from a car you stole at gunpoint that you plan to use to shoot another person while you’re on parole,” Johnson said.
Lawson claims that there was a passenger in his vehicle during the chase and that they are the one who shot at the officers. However, this is a common claim with police pursuit suspects and it clearly evident from the footage that Lawson was the only one in the vehicle.
Putting even more of a damper on the BLM logic is the fact that the owner of the stolen vehicle is also black. Of course, considering that 91 percent of murdered blacks are killed by other blacks, it’s no wonder Lawson thought nothing of victimizing a member of his own race.
McDonald’s awe-inspiring reaction perfectly sums up the selflessness and sacrifice it takes to be a police officer. They’re people just like us. Although abuse and brutality absolutely do exist within the realm of law enforcement, most are fathers, brothers, sons, and friends who are just trying to do their job and make sure everyone, including themselves, makes it home to their loved ones alive.
