Even before Simon Cowell joined the panel, the judges on America’s Got Talent could be pretty tough. Contestants grapple with nerves as they get onstage to impress the panel and move on to the next round doing anything from singing, to dancing, to magic.
In 2013, 10-year-old Anna Christine wanted to impress them with her vocal talent. She was especially nervous to perform in front of the notoriously difficult Howard Stern, but didn’t let her nerves show during her singing audition.
No one saw such a huge voice coming. Anna sang “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals, and absolutely blew the judges away with vocal talent far beyond her years.
“We’re looking in New York for a superstar, and I think we might have just found one,” Stern told Anna after her performance. The rest of the judges concurred, and voted unanimously to advance her to the next round.
It’s always exciting to see these amazing young singers come out of nowhere. Eleven-year-old Chloe Channell impressed the judges with her performance of Carrie Underwood’s “American Girl” – she definitely doesn’t sound her age either! Neither did another 11-year old opera singer, who advanced straight to the live show on America’s Got Talent with her performance of “O Mio Babbino.”
Who knows what talent is ahead when America’s Got Talent returns. Please SHARE this impressive video if you’re excited to find out!
